“NYC just released the performance ratings of 18,000 teachers, which they admit are statistically flawed and potentially misleading. I’m all for accountability but it has to be done right. I am curious as to when they will be releasing the parent report cards so that the public will also have the right to know which ones send their kids to school with no supplies, incomplete homework, little or no personal hygiene, an empty stomach, scars from abuse, dirty clothes, a lack of sleep, emotional negligence, and so on. We can teach, we can educate, we can try to correct, modify, and enhance some behaviors. We can feed them breakfast and lunch. We can buy them some supplies. We can do so much that is beyond our job description; however, we cannot be their parents.”

The New York City school system is out of control.
